Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really free?

Yes, CMS is a free clinic. We do not bill any patients we care for at this clinic. There is a voluntary donation for anyone who wants to help the cost of running the clinic in any amount they like.

I have insurance. Can I get service from your clinic?

Yes, if you prove you have annual income less than 200% of federal poverty level. If you don’t meet the eligibility criteria, we may see you for the one-time counseling visit.

How do you take care of referrals to specialties?

We contact a specialist and send a referral with summary of your health records upon your consent. Patients are responsible for the cost of the specialist care as we do not cover the cost of the specialist visit or procedures outside of this clinic unless it is previously arranged by the clinic.

Can I get X-rays?

Our clinic does not have x-ray machine except for dental care. If you need an X-ray, your doctor will give you a prescription with the x-ray order which you need to take to a nearest hospital or an image center. The report will be sent to your doctor who then will go over the result with you.

Should I be fasting for blood tests?

You do not need to fast for most of blood tests. You need to fast about 10 hours except for water for certain blood tests such as triglyceride level or fasting glucose. Your doctor will let you know whether it is necessary to fast before your blood tests.

Do I need to make an appointment?

It is best to make an appointment to be seen at the clinic timely. We will try to see walk-ins whenever possible if you are willing to wait for a room from a cancelled appointment.
